Tara has worked in the field of Human Resources for the 20 years and is a member of the CIPD.  Tara is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Business Studies and Political Science.  She started her career as a trainee on the IBEC Graduate Training Programme and spent several years advising companies on all aspects of employee relations and employment law matters. She has represented employers at company/union negotiations and third party institutions, including the Labour Court and Employment Appeals Tribunal.

Tara’s previous positions include senior HR roles in Ulster Bank Markets and she was appointed Director of Corporate Resources at Abbey National Financial Investment Services Ireland where she had responsibility for the Training, Compliance and Facilities functions as well as Human Resources. During this time, she was also a trustee of the Company’s pension scheme.

Most recently, her work in Mercer focused on the need to formulate Employee Engagement strategies regarding pension benefits and more specially the need to be creative and innovative when communicating with and educating members.
